Biology, University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado. BY DOUGLAS S. ROBERTSON AND MICHAEL C. GRANT Feedback exists in selective Darwinian processes because the populations that are being altered by evolution to adapt to their environment are themselves significant components of their own adaptive environments [1-3]. This element of selection was first recognized by Darwin and has been investigated in several ways, most particularly as it relates to sexual selection [3]. However, the power and pervasiveness of feedback as a part of the selective change process has not been well appreciated. The fundamental idea of feedback can be expressed by a pair of deliberately symmetric statements [4]:

Research on Chaos Characteristic of Crack Evolution in Coal-rock Fracturing
Precisely describing the formation and evolution rules of coal-rock fracturing crack have great value on reservoir fracturing improvement and highly efficient mining of coal bed methane well. In this paper, a non-linear dynamic method is used to study crack damage evolution behavior of coal-rock fracturing. Considering distribution characteristics of natural cracks in coal-rock, and based on da...

This paper consist of two sections: control and stabilizing approach for chaotic behaviour of converter is introduced in first section of this paper for the removal of harmonic caused by the chaotic behaviour in current converter. For this work, a Time- Delayed Feedback Controller (TDFC) control method for stability chaotic behaviour of buck converter for switching courses in current control mo...
متن کاملChaos/Complexity Theory and Education
Sciences exist to demonstrate the fundamental order underlying nature. Chaos/complexity theory is a novel and amazing field of scientific inquiry. Notions of our everyday experiences are somehow in connection to the laws of nature through chaos/complexity theory’s concerns with the relationships between simplicity and complexity, between orderliness and randomness (Retrieved from http://www.inc...
متن کاملMore than two equally probable variants of signal in Kauffman networks as an important overlooked case, negative feedbacks allow life in chaos
There are three main aims of this paper. 1I explain reasons why I await life to lie significantly deeper in chaos than Kauffman approach does, however still in boundary area near ‘the edge of chaos and order’. The role of negative feedbacks in stability of living objects is main of those reasons. In Kauffman’s approach regulation using negative feedbacks is not considered sufficiently, e.g. in ...
